Roses look fine and healthy after the winter
Great energy savings potential of our LED lamps
The pre-cultivation of roses which began in August last year is progressing fine and the plants are looking great after the winter, according to our rose growers. The roses are of different varieties and have since beginning, been grown under our prototype LED supplemental lamps. The project began with the cultivation of rose seedlings, which were then arranged in beds with double-rows last December. The roses were lit with our LED lamps during the reminder of the winter, 20 hours a day, with only 57W/m2 installed power. No carbon dioxide was given during the winter, not until March, when the necessary equipment was installed.
This project as well as our new LED lamps were demonstrated during the open house of the Agricultural University of Iceland at Reykir last Saturday 16th April, where hundreds of interested guests visited our area.
